The Chelsea youngster picked up an injury against Ethiopia and may be out for a while which means he'll miss Monday's friendly against Italy
Nigeria defender Kenneth Omeruo couldn't complete the encounter against Ethiopia after a suspected injury.
Omeruo missed the Super Eagles' last two games owing to a shoulder
injury he copped during the Fifa Confederations Cup in Brazil against
Spain and had not played any competitive game before the tie against the
Walia Antelopes.
He started the game against the Antelopes in Calabar before he was
substituted by Azubuike Egwuekwe in the 62nd minute after he got muscle
cramp and had to be replaced.
Head coach Stephen Keshi praised the resilience of the player and said he was glad that he made a return to the team.
"I was impressed with the way Omeruo played. He was all over the
pitch. He did excellently well but had to go out to muscle cramp," Keshi
said.
It’s not yet know how long the defender will spend on the sidelines
as the Eagles prepare to play against Italy in a friendly international
on Monday in London.
